Liberty Tree Tavern | Gluten Free Lunch Guide | Magic Kingdom

Hi Friends!

This week I wanted to share Mark and my experience at the Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. It’s been years since I’ve been here and we thought we would give it a try for lunch! I will be honest, when it comes to dining at Magic Kingdom, the options for a quality, sit down meal are slim.

I was so happy when I looked at the menu because lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern is almost identical to the all-you-can-eat platter at Garden Grill in Epcot! (Which is one of Mark and my favorite indulges!) While you aren’t greeted by Chip and Dale (like at Garden Grill), you do have the incredible opportunity of stepping out of a busy Magic Kingdom and enjoying a quiet dining experience. We were seated in an adorable little sunlit nook that definitely didn’t feel like we were in Magic Kingdom at all!

Mark and I chose to get the all-you-care-to-enjoy Bill of Fare.  When it comes to the menu, I am the Allergy Queen! That’s right, I get the big, ugly red stamp of shame on all my Disney receipts! Jokes aside, gluten and dairy are my offenders and I was absolutely AMAZED by the gluten free all-you-can-eat menu!!

CAUTION: The next few photos will make you REALLY hungry so just be prepared for all the amazing food you are about to see.

Above is the Declaration Salad, Tossed Mixed Greens with House-Made Dressing. This was an amazing mix but maybe ask for light dressing or on the side because it was pretty dressing heavy.

All drinks and coffee are included in the platter package which meant tons of amazing Disney chocolate milk! They brought us bread with the salad. They had GF bread but gluten free friends beware, this is the Udis roll which isn’t my personal favorite as it’s always cold and hard by the time it gets to the table. Bummer.

Now the moment you’ve all been waiting for……the Patriot's Platter!

Here’s what’s included…. Roasted Turkey Breast, Pot Roast, and Oven-roasted Pork with Mashed Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, Herb Stuffing, and House-made Macaroni and Cheese.

Let me just say this was like a Thanksgiving dinner from heaven. The gluten free version was pretty much the exact same as Mark’s regular platter, besides the GF gravy and GF mac and cheese. The pot roast was by far my favorite and was almost like butter. About 10 minutes into our lunch, I was drooling over the gluten filled herb stuffing on Mark’s plate that I couldn’t have. I’ve had a gluten intolerance for 5 years now and I am pretty numb to the fact that you can’t have everything gluten free and I was already so grateful for all the GF food they had provided me. But then the most magical thing happened!!! (You all probably think I’m crazy but GF friends will get this) I moved the turkey on my plate and what was hiding underneath was no other than the most AMAZING GLUTEN FREE STUFFING. There might have been tears of joy! Liberty Tree definitely scored major points here!

The food was all so incredible but very rich and I didn’t even have room to take advantage of ordering another plate. There was just SO MUCH FOOD! We were overwhelmed….but in a good way.

So all this seems like enough, right?!!? Not for Disney…..there’s more!

*Keep Scrolling*

Mark’s face says it all. YEP! Without even asking, they brought out this massive dessert platter consisting of an Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake which was Vanilla Cake with Gooey Toffee Filling, Caramel Sauce, and Vanilla Ice Cream. Poor Mark!! None of this was gluten free (or else I would have helped) and he is not a huge dessert person, so this pretty much just sat here for photos.

They gave me a super yummy Raspberry Sorbet which was both GF & Dairy free. Also, to refer back to the mac and cheese, that did have dairy and I splurged. *face palm*

I hope this little GF food guide was helpful! I definitely recommend trying Liberty Tree for lunch. It’s such a great break from the heat of the day and busy counter service lunch crowds!

Let me know what your thoughts on this adorable restaurant are in the comments below!

Have a Magical Day!

Top 7 Favorite Food and Drinks at the Flower & Garden Festival 2018!

©abigailnilsson-113.jpg

Hello Everyone!

Spring has arrived here in the Florida and my favorite time of year is in full swing...The Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT

I couldn't be more in love with this year's theming for the festival! All the designs for this year are inspired by the Florida orange groves. I feel like I should make a separate post for the merchandise because Mark came away with quite a drool-worthy haul!

While this festival is great for sniffing pretty flowers and admiring the gorgeous Disney themed topiaries, I came for the yummy food and drinks this year. And let me tell you, there are some AMAZING treats!

©abigailnilsson-161.jpg

My first stop was to the Pineapple Promenade for the insta-famous VIOLET LEMONADE. (Because who doesn't like a flower filled slushy at 9 AM? YUM! ) Honestly, as much hype as there is about this drink, we aren't lying when we say it's THE BEST drink at Epcot! For some reason this drink has a sort of bubblegum flavor to it that makes it so good! When I went back for seconds near park closing, the cast member called out the order window "One glorified slushy!".  I have no SHAME!

1) Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade – $4.25

Our first food of the day was Mark's pick at La Isla Fresca. If you're a meat lover like Mark, you're going to love this! I wasn't so keen on the look of it at first but once I tried it I was in heaven. It's safe to say this was the best savory thing we tried!

Note: We had lunch reservations at Garden Grill (all you can eat) so we didn't try as many savory foods. I've heard there are also some really yummy savory gluten free options at F&G too!

La Isla Fresca

2) Jamaican-braised Beef with Pigeon Pea Rice & Micro Cilantro - $6.25

We planned on trying a lot more at the Honey Bee-stro but we stopped there towards the end of the day and quickly grabbed the Honey Peach Cobbler Freeze. But oh my goodness, were we surprised! I have never had a frozen liquid cobbler but I can for sure say that is what it tasted like! The Blueberry Vodka had the most kick out of all the drinks at the Flower and Garden which I guess you could say was worth the $10.25? Haha!

3) Honey-Peach Cobbler Freeze with Blueberry Vodka – $10.25

Note: This drink is not gluten free due to the graham cracker crumbs on top :(

Now on to my favorite dessert from the ENTIRE festival ..... The Lemon Scone.... which is GLUTEN FREE and only $4.25!! My mouth is watering thinking about it now. I can not describe to you how awesome it feels to go to Disney and see something that looks so yummy and then find out it's gluten free, and it's actually DELICIOUS! Way to go Disney!

United Kingdom Pavilion- Cider House

4) Freshly Baked Lemon Scone with Crème Fraîche and Mixed Berries  $4.25

As we headed over to France I found another gluten free gem! I have a huge sweet tooth and devoured the Chocolate Macaron Lollipop! It has quite a fudgey rich taste which I think made it last longer and was definitely worth the $4.95.

France Pavillion- Fleur de Lys

5) Macaron au Chocolat en Sucette Large Chocolate Macaron Lollipop – $4.95

We also so enjoyed the Rose Frozen Slushy! This drink has a phenomenal taste and goes perfect with your rose gold accessories, or boyfriend. Haha!

La Vie en Rose Frozen Slushy

6) Grey Goose Orange, St. Germain Liqueur, White and Red Cranberry Juice – $10.75

Lastly, was the Pineapple Sake Cocktail which tasted like 95% Pineapple Juice and 5% Sake but it was still delicious! While it was good I'm not sure I would pay another $6.50 for a practically cup of fruit juice. *face palm*

China Pavillion- Hanami

Pineapple Momo Sake Cocktail – $6.50
