Liberty Tree Tavern | Gluten Free Lunch Guide | Magic Kingdom

Hi Friends!

This week I wanted to share Mark and my experience at the Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom. It’s been years since I’ve been here and we thought we would give it a try for lunch! I will be honest, when it comes to dining at Magic Kingdom, the options for a quality, sit down meal are slim.

I was so happy when I looked at the menu because lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern is almost identical to the all-you-can-eat platter at Garden Grill in Epcot! (Which is one of Mark and my favorite indulges!) While you aren’t greeted by Chip and Dale (like at Garden Grill), you do have the incredible opportunity of stepping out of a busy Magic Kingdom and enjoying a quiet dining experience. We were seated in an adorable little sunlit nook that definitely didn’t feel like we were in Magic Kingdom at all!

Mark and I chose to get the all-you-care-to-enjoy Bill of Fare.  When it comes to the menu, I am the Allergy Queen! That’s right, I get the big, ugly red stamp of shame on all my Disney receipts! Jokes aside, gluten and dairy are my offenders and I was absolutely AMAZED by the gluten free all-you-can-eat menu!!

CAUTION: The next few photos will make you REALLY hungry so just be prepared for all the amazing food you are about to see.

Above is the Declaration Salad, Tossed Mixed Greens with House-Made Dressing. This was an amazing mix but maybe ask for light dressing or on the side because it was pretty dressing heavy.

All drinks and coffee are included in the platter package which meant tons of amazing Disney chocolate milk! They brought us bread with the salad. They had GF bread but gluten free friends beware, this is the Udis roll which isn’t my personal favorite as it’s always cold and hard by the time it gets to the table. Bummer.

Now the moment you’ve all been waiting for……the Patriot's Platter!

Here’s what’s included…. Roasted Turkey Breast, Pot Roast, and Oven-roasted Pork with Mashed Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, Herb Stuffing, and House-made Macaroni and Cheese.

Let me just say this was like a Thanksgiving dinner from heaven. The gluten free version was pretty much the exact same as Mark’s regular platter, besides the GF gravy and GF mac and cheese. The pot roast was by far my favorite and was almost like butter. About 10 minutes into our lunch, I was drooling over the gluten filled herb stuffing on Mark’s plate that I couldn’t have. I’ve had a gluten intolerance for 5 years now and I am pretty numb to the fact that you can’t have everything gluten free and I was already so grateful for all the GF food they had provided me. But then the most magical thing happened!!! (You all probably think I’m crazy but GF friends will get this) I moved the turkey on my plate and what was hiding underneath was no other than the most AMAZING GLUTEN FREE STUFFING. There might have been tears of joy! Liberty Tree definitely scored major points here!

The food was all so incredible but very rich and I didn’t even have room to take advantage of ordering another plate. There was just SO MUCH FOOD! We were overwhelmed….but in a good way.

So all this seems like enough, right?!!? Not for Disney…..there’s more!

*Keep Scrolling*

Mark’s face says it all. YEP! Without even asking, they brought out this massive dessert platter consisting of an Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake which was Vanilla Cake with Gooey Toffee Filling, Caramel Sauce, and Vanilla Ice Cream. Poor Mark!! None of this was gluten free (or else I would have helped) and he is not a huge dessert person, so this pretty much just sat here for photos.

They gave me a super yummy Raspberry Sorbet which was both GF & Dairy free. Also, to refer back to the mac and cheese, that did have dairy and I splurged. *face palm*

I hope this little GF food guide was helpful! I definitely recommend trying Liberty Tree for lunch. It’s such a great break from the heat of the day and busy counter service lunch crowds!

Let me know what your thoughts on this adorable restaurant are in the comments below!

Have a Magical Day!

D23: The Mega Post

Hello Everyone!

Last week was filled with SO many magical Disney adventures!!! One of which was my first time to D23! For those who have never heard of D23 or just assumed it was a cult event for Disney crazies, then you're right! KIDDING....sorta. With that said, this 3 day event is the Official Disney Fan Club convention held in Anaheim, CA. This is where Disney announces huge park news, new upcoming Disney films, tons of exclusive merch, and it's an excuse to dress like a Disney princess. Also, if you really want a history lesson, the name D23 refers to D for Disney and 23 for 1923—the year Walt Disney founded the company. (Yes, I looked this up)

The convention was Friday, Saturday, and Sunday but I only went on Friday because I had a flight that afternoon. :( Also, Mark and I had just come off of 2 huge days at Disneyland and we were exhausted. The doors to D23 opened at 10am and we got there around 8:30am which was considered late because the line looped around about 60 times and it took us about 10 mins to walk to the end of the line. Because we bought our tickets in advance, we split up and Mark went to will call while I stayed in line. Luckily, after 1.5 hrs of waiting in line the doors opened and the line started moving quickly.

Once we were through security, we received adorable reusable D23 bags and the madness began! Mark is all about the exclusive merch so we rushed straight for the MOG (Mickeys of Glendale store), which was over a 2 hr wait. I feel if you only have one day (or in my case, half a day) at D23 and you really want to shop, you're not really going to have time to do anything else because the lines are just so long! Because of the never ending line, we jumped out and went walking around the convention instead, which was way more enjoyable!

When it comes to Disney Parks news, we got an ear full! So many exciting announcements were made about upcoming rides, restaurants, transportation, and hotels. And of course the not so exciting news of operation "marvel takes over everything" and ride closings such as The Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios (Which we say goodbye to August 13th so make sure you go ride it before then!)

However, we must keep our spirits high because Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is coming in 2019! One of the things I was looking forward to most at D23 was seeing the first look at this awesome new land! This diorama represents the new 14 acre experience that is coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland. I definitely got chills and I'm pretty sure Mark had to pry me away.

Below is a grid of some highlights from D23. Feel free to click on the pictures to make them bigger. There were so many amazing costumes and awesome booths to look at! I must say I fangirl-ed so hard at the live action princess/villain dresses. I'm also forever loving how much Disney is bringing vinyls back! There were so many exclusive vinyls I had never seen before!

If I had my time to go over I would have not booked a flight for the middle of D23! There was so much to do and see that it was impossible to complete everything in half a day!

A huge thank you to Mark ( @markevn) for all the photos of me and for letting me use the fisheye photos. (a true boyfriend) haha

Hope you all enjoyed my review/ramblings of D23! Sorry I crammed everything into one post.

Make sure to follow me on insta (@disneywithabi).

Hope you all have a Magical Day!
