Mark's Birthday Weekend! | What's NEW at Magic Kingdom!

Hey Friends!

This weekend Mark and I booked a last minute staycation to WDW for his birthday! Turning 25 is a big deal but we really hadn’t planned much due to senior thesis ruling our lives at the moment. Besides, how could we top Mark’s birthday celebrations last year with our stay at the Boardwalk in the garden cottage with club level and then a night in the suites at Animal Kingdom lodge! We really out did ourselves. Haha!

Mark has a slight Funko Pop obsession and we started his birthday weekend off at 5 am waiting for the release of the new Alice pop at Magic Kingdom. While this is something I usually roll my eyes at, I had the BEST time! Before the park was open to guests, we got to go through a special entrance only for Funko crazies which led into Fantasyland. There was something definitely magical about wandering an empty Magic Kingdom! Plus it was an amazing 50 degrees for most of the day!

Because the Funko pop release was Alice, we had an adorable visit from the White Rabbit and we even got to ride the tea cups! This early entrance could also only mean one thing to me, we were first in line for MINE TRAIN! {SUCCESS!!}

We spent the rest of the morning doing the usual Disney birthday musts! We collected Mark’s birthday button, got super cute Mickey birthday stickers, and took cliche castle pics.

We were so excited that we got to catch the new Mickey’s 90th parade! Can I just say Minnie and Mickey’s outfits are absolutely adorable! Also thanks to this parade, we can’t get the “It’s a Good Time” song out of our heads! On our way out we picked up the Mickey birthday sipper cup at Casey’s Corner on Main Street! While it’s a little impractical as a drinking cup, I’m SO in love with it and think I might use it as a decoration!

Mark and I stayed at the Yacht Club Resort for the first time! I completed failed as a travel blogger and didn’t get any photos of our room or our gluttonous Beaches and Cream dessert that we got. We overall enjoyed the resort but had quite a difficult time when we checked in and spent about 2 hours on the phone with the front desk. They offered us an upgrade and we changed rooms 3 times because the upgrade they thought they were giving us was an even worse room than the one we were in before! Frustrating to say the least!

We ended the night with Magic Kingdom fireworks from the top of the Contemporary Resort and then California Grill for an amazing dinner! This is one of our favorite fancy places to have dinner!

{TIP: If you book California Grill before or after the fireworks, they let you go up early and watch the fireworks from the balcony with the Happily Ever After fireworks soundtrack. The view is breathtaking!

Lastly, here’s a little birthday package I put together for Mark to open. I thought girly/beach birthday decorations from Target would fit in nicely with our Yacht Club stay. Lol!

Thanks for staying along to read this post!

Let me know what fun things you do at Disney for birthdays!!

Have a Magical Day!
