5 MUST DO'S AT PIXAR PIER | DISNEYLAND

Happy Summer!

What’s a better way to ring in summer than with a trip to the NEW Pixar Pier! If you’re a Pixar lover like me, you will absolutely LOVE this newly designed area of Disney’s California Adventure! Ever since hearing about the announcement of Paradise Pier’s face lift, I was skeptical and very salty. BUT I must say that completely changed when I stepped into Pixar Pier.

Read along as I breakdown the TOP 5 MUST DO’S at Pixar Pier! Honestly, this was SO hard to narrow at down to only 5 because there is just so many fun things to explore in this area!!

1) INCREDICOASTER

Let’s just get straight into it, THE INCREDICOASTER….is INCREDIBLE!!

California Screamin’ was my all time favorite DCA ride (and forever will be) and I had high expectations for the Incredicoaster to be just as good. The theming is so well done and the story line is super fun as you are on a mission to catch baby Jack Jack!

Thriller Tip: If you want to make riding this 10x more INCREDIBLE ask for the first row and ride it at night! It has a completely different feeling and and I was SHOOK after riding it!

2) MEETING PIXAR PALS

We all know Disneyland hands down has the best character meet & greets that always feel so organic and magical! Dancing with Jessie and running around with Mike Wazowski feels like a dream come true at Pixar Pier!

There are an endless amount of Pixar themed murals and walls that are every instagram girl’s dream! While Mark and I were taking a photo in front of the Pixar Pier gate Mike Wazowski came out of nowhere and hoped in our shot. Talk about the best family photo EVER! Yes, Mike is now apart of our family. Haha!

While they aren’t in Pixar films, The Pixarmonic Orchestra is the most fun LIVE band I’ve ever seen! This merry band of wacky characters play Pixar favorites while also breaking for commercial as they sing “Triple Dent Gum” from Inside Out! Watching this group was one of Mark and my favorite things of the trip because of their exciting and hilarious energy, no to mention they were phenomenal musicians!

3) TREATS & SWEETS

Okay so this is where my money flies out the window…..the Pixar themed TREATS!

Is it really a trip to Disney if you didn’t try the treats?!

My favorite treat of all has to be the Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait from the Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats stand. The parfait is a gorgeous nondairy Lemon Soft-serve with Blue Raspberry Swirl. While it sounds crazy to get this early in the morning, it might be a good idea because the line for this on a hot day is super long!

There are so many yummy treats to try around the Pier and I enjoyed them all so much I never took photos of them! *face palm* Mark really enjoyed the Angry Dogs stand and the theming is just too cute!

5) MERCHANDISE

Disneyland always has such beautiful merch in the parks! My first step into a shop at Pixar Pier left me speechless! There are so many adorable designs and such a variety to choose from!

If you’ve been to Disneyland recently, you’ve probably seen the UP balloons! I think this is one of the most ingenious things Disney has created but I’m still not willing to pay $30+ dollars. So…..I found this lonely ballon tied to a stroller and did what a disney blogger girl does best and “did it for the gram”. In the end, my heart was happy and so was my wallet!

BONUS EXTRAS

Two attractions that Mark and I missed but know got a fantastic Pixar makeover…..

The Pixar Pal -A- Round ferris wheel and the carnival games around the pier! Definitely make sure to check both these things out!

Packing for a summer at DISNEYLAND!

©abigailnilsson-3.jpg

Hi Everyone!

If any of you follow my personal account on Instagram (@abigailnilsson), then you know I will be doing my senior college internship in Los Angeles this summer with a fashion photographer. I am SO incredibly excited for this experience and can't wait to see what this opportunity has in store!

The Disney side of me immediately geeked out because that means I will be minutes from my home away from home, Disneyland! Also, can you say OPENING of Pixar Pier?!?

Packing has been an exciting, crazy process as I choose what to bring with me for a whole summer at Disneyland! So I thought I would share with you all some of my top favorite Disney items I can't wait to bring to the parks!

{Click each shop's name for links to merch available!}

LUGGAGE

©abigailnilsson-2.jpg

My luggage is Samsonite Tennyson 24" (Got it at TJ Maxx but it's sold out). This beauty is my go to suitcase for international traveling or long term stays because it's durable and I call it my Mary Poppins bag because it literally fits everything!

This vintage inspired luggage tag is by the LOVELY Katella and Co. and it's something I have been looking at for months! Go check out their shop because I'm obsessed!

CLOTHING: Pixar Style

©abigailnilsson-1-2.jpg

While California weather is similar to Florida weather, (70+ degrees and sunny) I'm not used to it getting down into the 50s at night during the summer! I couldn't be more excited to pack my navy monogrammed Cinderella pullover from The Blonde Ruby, which is perfect for cold nights!

As far as tees go, I have a million and one! Also, the more Mark lifts weights, the less and less his Disney shirts fit him.....so guess who gets to inherit them! MUAHAHAHA

Up Tee// Uniqlo

Pizza Planet Tee// Box Lunch  (sold out)

Disneyland Short Sleeve Spirit Jersey// Shop Disney Parks  (Amazon Link)

Sulley Crop Top// :Choocolate  (Hong Kong brand)

EARS: You can never have too many pairs!

©abigailnilsson-1-9.jpg

My ear collection has really been growing recently! It was hard to cull some ears out but you can't take 'em all! (Or can you?) From top to bottom, here's where the ears are from!

Patriotic Minnie Ears // WALMART! *GASP* They are actually really well made and only $5!

Cogsworth & Lumiare 3D Printed Ears //  Aloha Ears Design  sold out)

Classic Minnie Mouse Ears //  Brooklyn Rose Boutique

Millennial Pink Ears // Disney Parks EVERYWHERE

Floral Ears // Fairy Tangled

ACCESORIES

These two little cuties are makeup bags that I lucked out on from a discount store in the middle of nowhere! After some research they are from Hot Topic and you can get them HERE

Lastly, I always love for everything to have just a little touch of magic, so here's another luggage tag from Katella and Co. for my camera bag!

Thanks for joining along in my packing adventure! I can't wait for a magical summer ahead! Let me know if you're going to be in the LA area this summer! <3
